Terms of participation
Last updated 2 October 2026
These terms apply to startups that apply to the WLOUNGE Tech Awards, organised by WLOUNGE UG (haftungsbeschränkt), Kurfürstendamm 194, 10707 Berlin (“WLOUNGE”, “we”). You accept them when you submit an entry.
1. Who can apply
Startups that meet the eligibility criteria stated in the application form for the current edition, such as founding year and region. One entry per company. The entry must be submitted by someone entitled to act for the company.
2. Your entry
By submitting, you confirm that:
- the information in your entry is accurate and complete;
- you may share the pitch deck and all other materials you submit, and they do not infringe anyone else’s rights;
- the people you name in your entry know that you share their details with us.
3. Judging
WLOUNGE and the jurors may store, read, copy and discuss your entry, including the pitch deck, to evaluate it and run the awards. WLOUNGE decides on the categories, the composition of the jury, the judging process and the results. Results are final. Individual scores and rankings are not shared.
4. Confidentiality
We ask jurors to treat entries with discretion and to use them only for judging. Beyond that reasonable care, neither WLOUNGE nor the jurors take on any confidentiality obligation, and no one signs a non-disclosure agreement. Jurors include investors and people working in the industry. Do not include trade secrets or anything you would not share with them.
5. Finalists and winners
If your company is named a finalist or winner, WLOUNGE may publish its name, logo and a short description, together with its category and result, on the Tech Awards pages, at the gala, in press material and on social media, and keep them in the record of the awards. You grant WLOUNGE a free, non-exclusive right to use them for this. We do not publish your pitch deck or other answers without asking you.
6. Withdrawal and exclusion
You can withdraw at any time: delete an unsubmitted draft yourself, or email techawardsteam@wlounge.de to withdraw a submitted entry. WLOUNGE may exclude entries that are ineligible, contain false information, infringe the rights of others or breach these terms.
7. Changes to the awards
For good reason, WLOUNGE may change the schedule or categories, or postpone or cancel an edition. We will tell applicants as early as we can.
8. Liability
WLOUNGE is liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence and for injury to life, body or health. For slight negligence, WLOUNGE is liable only for breach of an essential obligation, limited to the foreseeable damage typical for this kind of participation. Otherwise, liability is excluded.
9. Your data
How we process personal data is explained in the Privacy notice.
10. Governing law
German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. The courts of Berlin have exclusive jurisdiction, as far as the law permits.
